Maybe this is obvious.....
....but I'm still learning.
Canterbury 15/30 (9 handed) EP is a passive retard MP is a dealer who plays too loose (limps QTo UTG, etc), but plays OK post. 3 limpers, SB completes, I check in the BB with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Flop (5 players) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB checks, I bet, one limper folds, EP calls, MP calls, SB folds. Turn: Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I bet, EP calls, MP raises, I ......... |

Re: Maybe this is obvious.....
Since there is some chance that you could still lose this hand if the board pairs, I'd raise to thin the field and make them pay to draw.

Re: Maybe this is obvious.....
Pump it up. One of these players will call you all the way down with another flush or straight. No need to slow down anymore, the river could give you another [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and ruin the action. Make them pay while they think they have hope.

Isn't a 3-bet on that board going to scare the [censored] out of them? [/ QUOTE ] I see your point, though. By merely calling MP's raise, EP will almost always call. You can then bet out on the river and both will probably call. That's 3 bets gained. By reraising the turn, you may lose EP, MP will call now and also your river bet. That's only 2 bets gained. But based on your read, if EP is that retarded, he'll call (looking for God knows what) as will MP. Heck, MP may even cap with another flush! Should it have been a smarter bunch, yes, repeat first paragraph. With these two, don't need to be too crafty. For what it's worth, if they have any perceptive bones in their bodies, you may instill passivity in their play the next time you bet into them. |

Re: Maybe this is obvious.....
Why? My first reaction was call/lead any river. We get 3 if we call/lead, and the LP idiot might raise the river. If we 3bet we're almost guaranteed to lose MP, and only get 2 more bets into the pot.
I suppose I could understand 3betting if we think either of them is drawing live, but is that really a concern with these opponents? lf |

Re: Maybe this is obvious.....
how many times has someone in a ring game 3-bet the turn with a 3 flush on board and you said to yourself, "he could be bluffing, i'll call him down?"
people will pay you off with many things here, 3-bet and smile while doing so. |
