Default Hourly win rates

How long is the long run with MTTs? Do people here feel confident that they can make any claims as to what their hourly win rate is? Or do people mostly only consider ITM and ROI? Or do they consider the long run in MTT to be so nebulous that they don't bother to try to calculate these things? One first place can skew results dramatically, particularly in the "short" term, so knowing your win rate seems as if it would be fairly hard to calculate with any confidence.

Inspired by WSOP, I've started playing MTTs. I've played suboptimally, but still managed to place in the money in a few of them. This should be encouraging, but then I realize it took me over 3 hours to outlast 800 of the 1000-sized field. And win $8. Considering my hourly win rate at 5/10 6max is like ten times that, I'm wondering if MTTs could possibly be worth the trouble (especially since my stress level seems to be much higher playing them - if someone hits a 3 outter on me 2 hours into a tournament, I go nuts. If someone hits a 3 outter against me in a ring game, I start another hand).
