What is the line here
Where do you call in this position
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t600 (4 handed) converter Button (t2830) SB (t4430) Hero (t2930) UTG (t3310) Preflop: Hero is BB with A-x:. 2 folds, SB raises to t4200, Hero calls t2280 (All-In). |

Re: What is the line here
Hmmmm, I dunno. My read on his propensity to abuse me with his chips/position would have to factor. Looking at the other stacks, laying one down here wouldn't be the worst thing. Pick up a single set of blinds in the next few hands - and you're still in good shape.
With that said.......AK-J? Too tight? |

Re: What is the line here
ICM seems to say that AJ+ is the line of must call against a really loose range, which is what I would presume villain is on. A9/AT is still +EV though but only slightly.
I am just curious if there is a general consesus on what the weakest ace you can call with here. |

[/ QUOTE ] Well if he seems like he's a good player who understands how to play his stack, he would be pushing a lot of hands here, so I'd probably want A8s. If he seems tighter than that, say pushing only the top 25%, I'd need AJs. |

Re: What is the line here
Wow this is pretty interesting. If you give him T7o face up (which would be a +EV push in a cash game) it is a big -EV push. He needs to have about Q7 to make a break even push should he flip his hand up. If your opponent played perfectly and this were a cash game, you should call with A9+. Since you need to be tighter on the bubble (both pushing and calling since playing a pot ups the EV for the people not involved in the hand) you would give a perfect playing opponent credit for a hand that is worth ~16 SB face up and you would probably need AT to call here (edited).
Brad Edit - It looks like 77 is the lowest pair you can call here. |

[/ QUOTE ] I personally find the call, push or fold 'border-line' decisions more difficult to make. What do you think about.... AQ AJ AT A9.... or what about a mid-PP(66-99)? Edit: Dropped blinds a tad further |

Re: What is the line here
If he is tight I fold all but AQ/AK and TT+ here but if he is bullying I push back with AT+ and 88+.
I'd probably push with 77 but I'd close my eyes. I think calling in this situation is ridiculous. |
