Default aussies and brits

We were watching the BO at lunch and this topic came up: whats the realtionship between brits and aussies? Do brits look down on aussies since the aussies were former brits who were exiled to australia because of debt? do aussies vacation to england much - or stay away? I know there are a few brits on here that might have an idea.

I am American, but I lived in Australia for 6 months. From my experience the relationship between Australia and Britain is very similar to the relationship between Britain and the US, but probably a little closer. Australia has diverged less from Britain because it is younger, did not fight a war against Britain, and is still a British Commonwealth. The relationship could probably best be described as that of an older brother (Britain) vs. younger brother (Australia). British people still think they are better even though Australia has grown up and even managed to beat Britain in criquet. They compete with each other and resent each other, but in a brotherly way.
