Default 5th Street Magazine update

Anyone who is a subscriber and has been waiting on issues since the first one (Feb 2005), I emailed the magazine and received these replies today:

>From: "Ted Elrick"
>Reply-To:
>To: "'Larry Lottery'"
>Subject: RE: Falling behind on 5th Street issues?

>Alas, there was an unexpected delay, but, we're back on track and in the midst of laying out the next issue. From that point on you'll see an issue on a regular monthly basis and all subscribers will be receiving the full 12 issues they subscribed for. I apologize for this delay. It was, unfortunately, beyond my control and, I do appreciate your patience.

Pretty long delay.... maybe you can let us know next time, if it happens again? I didn't see anything on the website about it.

Thanks for the information. When should I expect to see the next issue delivered, Mr Elrick?

I agree. Believe it or not, I was nearly as much in the dark on how long this delay would last as you were. I would expect to see the June issue in three weeks.

(Here's the past history of Live Action Poker/5th Street magazine from my perspective, if you care:

Hope that helps someone

More delays- this is developing into the same problem that it had when it was Live Action Poker magazine:

>I don't know what to say except, I'm sorry. We were in the midst of laying that issue out. So, the three weeks is what I was led to believe. Then, on hold again. Not indefinitely and I can say we're not in the dumper. I'm meeting with some of our columnists this weekend, and you'll be the first person I let know, when I know something definite, something that I won't later be sorry I said. It's frustrating for me as well so I appreciate any of you who may still be hanging in there.

You could be right- I called today after they didn't answer repeated emails, the subscription service number said they don't have information on when or if they are starting back up again.

Default 5th Street Magazine is gone like a thief in the night

It seems as if 5th Street Magazine, by ROI Media Publishers L.L.C, has folded tents and disappeared into the night, taking our subscription money with them. The only number that still works connected me with an ex-employee who isn't too happy with them either. None of the email addresses get replies and some are rejected as closed accounts.

I've filed a complaint with the LA Better Business Bureau, but I'm pretty much assuming that this is a write off loss. Oh well, maybe the two issues that I have will be collectibles many years from now.

It's too bad they couldn't be honest about their problems and status.
