table of poor players, or a few terrible ones plus sharks?
The title kind of sums it up pretty well, I hope. Is it better to have an entire table of poor players (let's say ~35%vpip), or a table with a couple of monster fish (let's say 70-80%vpip) and the rest sharks? let's assume that the average vpip for both tables winds up to be exactly the same.

Depends on where I'm sitting. If the the whales are all on my immediate right, I don't care what the rest of the table looks like. If they're on my left, I'd rather have the soft all the way around table.

I would rather have the table full of poor players to distribute the income source. Unless the monster fish have equally monster bankrolls or are willing to reload often, they will quickly go broke to the sharks (and you), at which point they will be replaced by someone tighter, and you have to go find another table. At least with the table full of poor players, they'll trade money back and forth for a bit and not really notice they are losing all that much until you take it from them.

Either/or. I prefer a couple of really terrible players, since only slightly loose and passive players make fewer mistakes overall, and aren't as easy to beat.
