I hate my Pokerstars screenname - so I emailed them about it - but they won't let me change it. Is there anyway to get a 2nd account on there? I could just register my girlfriend - but it's important to me for the account to be registered under my name - in case I ever qualify for a live-event. Help! Thanks. Sure, simply download their software on a different computer and register as whoever you want. I did it because I wasn't aware of their rule where you can change your pic only once. I'm registered exactly the same on both, except for the screen name. They won't let two players from the same IP address play in the same tournament, but my wife and I play in the regular tables together all the time from the same IP. Of course, we only play the .NET version, so consider that as well. I have no idea if the .COM version would be any different.

As a side note, if you email them and tell them that "my avatar offended another player at a table and I would like to change it" - they'll let you change it. Cheers. Doesn't this allow for someone to play 2 hands at the same table. Why aren't IPs checked for all players at a table? Or were you saying that you each play at the same time but at different tables? |

Under PokerStars FAQ: " I would like to play under different names, can I have more than one account? No. Each player is only allowed one account" If you create another account there is a GOOD chance that both accounts will be closed. Do so at your own risk. Or just play on your original fuggin account! |

Can anyone else confirm that both accounts could be closed if you do this?

Just close out your account before you start playing with your new one. It is a very bad idea to play with two accounts at one site, as they may forfeit your money for violating their user agreement.

How do you "close out your account"?

[/ QUOTE ] If it's a play money .net account, I wouldn't worry, but if it's a real money account, I think there's a pretty good chance it would get closed. Lee Jones posts here. You might want to try sending him a PM about it. |
