Gavin Griffin Doubles Up
Log: Gavin Griffin just doubled up to around $320,000 in chips. All the money was in after seeing a flop of 9d-6d-4d and the player in seat #3 showed pocket 4's. Griffin turned over pocket 10's, one being the 10 of diamonds. The turn was the 3 of diamonds, giving Gain the 10 high flush. The river was a rag and Gavin Griffin doubled up with his flush.

What could be going through someones mind to stake their entire tournament life on a set on a single suited flop?

Not so fast my friend. Looks like Cardplayer goofed and Gavin actually lost that hand on the river.

Does this all but cripple Griffin? Before, they had him doubling up to 320k, but now that they switched it to Griffin losing, they say he shipped 160k. Looks like Griffin's time may be numbered. Really goes to show how one key hand or card can either send you home out of the money or propel you to a nice finish.

Is it just me or has Cardplayer been doing a really terrible job after promoting itself as the premiere source for WSOP related info?

I think their overall coverage and the early event coverage was fantastic. I think they are completely overwhelmed for the main event so far and have been doing an awful job, with tons of mistakes.

What could be going through someones mind post on a hand in which they had no information of the action preflop, therefore could have no idea how easy it was to put gavin on an overpair w/ a diamond?

As opposed to putting your tourney life on the line with a mid-sized overpair on the same flop?
