Paragon trip report with a FLOOR! decision and MAGOO!

My friend and professional poker player Wai Tran busted out of the WSOP on the first day and flew back to Lafayette friday morning. He called me and suggested we go to Paragon Casino in Marksville so he could let off some steam.

We arrived at 5:30pm and were seated in a brand new 2/4 game. 2/4???? I haven't played 2/4 live in years, and Wai couldn't recall the last time, but he wanted to Magoo-it-up, so we took our seats. We sat there for 4 hours and either he or I raised pre-flop every hand, much to the dismay of the local rocks.

2 hands of note: Hand 1-I'm dealt 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in the BB and its limped around to Wai in the CO who raises of course, the SB comes along as do I, 7 to the flop which is Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB checks, I bet out, a few limpers call, Wai looks at me and smiles that, "I've played with you for years.", look and folds. The SB folds and 4 see the turn which is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I bet out, 2 folds and then a raise, I re-raise hoping he has the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], but he just calls. River is a blank, I bet, he calls with Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]??? and I get a high hand hat! Oh, and a chip spinner which I give to Wai since I already have one.

Hand 2-I'm dealt J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG, a strong holding and I raise. All fold to Wai who smooth calls. The BB comes along and the flop is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I check, Wai checks, and the BB checks. Turn is 10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I bet, Wai raises, BB calls, I re-raise, Wai caps, and BB calls again???? River is A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I bet, Wai raises, BB calls again? I re-raise, Wai caps, and BB mucks? wtf was he holding? I never found out. Anyway, I turn over the str8, and Wai turns over J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and we chop it up.

Blackjack and the FLOOR decision.

About 9:30pm we get bored so off to the black jack tables, me up $40 and Wai up $20. We sit at the $10 double-deck table, but I'm already too drunk to count cards. The dealer was shitty and not paying attention when this situation occurs. I'm at first base and dealt a 15 with the dealer showing a 9. I hit and make 20. The guy next to me hits and makes 20. Wai doubles down and makes 20! The drunken-skinky-ass local at 3rd base is playing 2 hands and busts both hands.

The dealers then proceeds to scoop up ALL the cards on the table, without even turning over his, and sticks them in the tray. We're like, "Whoa buddy!." He calls for the floor, who then removes the cards from the trey and proceeds to "un-muck" them in reverse order. But there is a problem, the dealer didn't scoop them up properly, and now the order is messed up! This whole time the dealers hand is still "live" with his 9 and hole card sitting in front of him.

The floor then makes the biggest bonehead decision of all time and says, "The hand is dead." Huh? wtf? I say, "Go to the camera, I had 20, he had 20, and the other guy had 20." The floor says NO and then Wai and the other guy chime in, "Yea, go to the camera." Floor finally says, "FINE.", in that FU kinda attitude. So they call security, who confirms that we all had 20, and we get paid.

But what about the dealers hand? Floor said F-it and paid us off without showing. wtf again?

We leave the BJ table each up about $150 and proceed to get blind-stupid-drunk playing $5 craps til about 2am when we finally hit the hotel bed. A good time, and Wai got to blow off some steam.
