Default AKo vs 3 unknowns.

First orbit. Nothing reliable for reads.

Spewing on the turn or standard?

I'm not a big fan of the turn 3-bet. Villain's most likely hands are AK and QQ I think and you won't make up the losses against QQ by charging the flush draw.

Why did you bet the flop? Yes, the turn is spewing.

Don't bet the flop. Don't 3-bet the turn--make a crying call and pray that he has AK to split.

PF: Standard
Flop: Standard
Turn: I like the 3-bet because it traps MP3, who I think probably picked up a spade draw on the turn. Sucks that villain caps it...the way he's played it, I'd guess he's either QQ or AK, though I suppose AA is also a possibility here.
River: Yeah, just call him down -- I think you're splitting at best.

I was looking to get raised so it might be two-cold to MP3. Trying to protect the hand a bit.

Why is check-calling better?

That makes a lot of sense, thanks.

Is it really worth 2-bets to see the turn to knock out one player? I can understand if the capper was acting directly after you, but you're trapping a player in between. Also, something to consider is after the cap preflop, the only hands a typical opponent will raise you with on this flop have you in bad shape.

Maybe I shouldn't have said "standard." It is what I would do. This pot is large and worth fighting for. By betting straight out, you might get lower pockets to fold. You also get information by seeing if you get raised. The fact that villain does NOT raise this flop tells you there's a very decent likelihood he has AK or QQ. So you're narrowing down the range of what he's got. You also continue to represent real strength, of the AA or KK variety.

Unless you're going to check-fold here on the flop for one bet, I personally advocate betting out. But I could certainly be wrong. Why do you hate betting out?
