Against someone that loose, I'd call, just so I could see his 72o and have a good bad beat story, if for no other reason. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

This is a perfect example of a proper use of the check/call check/call bet! You can see why it's very effective against a strong player.

Too bad the guy who did it had no idea what he was doing.

I'm probably checking behind on the turn and calling a bet on the river. If we're ahead here, Villain has 4-5 outs to improve (gutshot or 67/78) so a free card doesn't hurt us, and i'm not sure we're ahead here almost ever.

(I'm also wondering if a bet on the flop is correct, but i'll usually do it.)
