AQs early in a casino tourny
Early in the tourny blinds are 25/50 @ a 9 handed table with rebuys still available to most players at the table. My read on the table is loose aggressive.
Hero is CO and I have only played two hands and exposed an A8o that I limped in the BB with. My table image is tight. UTG (t1900) limps UTG+1 (t2100) limps MP1 folds MP2 folds MP3 folds Hero (t2050)A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Raises t250 button (t6200) calls (this guy will call and/or raise with any hand. I have already seen him call raises with 72s and 107o and raise with Q10o...he won all three hands flopped sets on the first two and a straight on the third) Both blinds fold and both limpers call pot is t1175: Flop 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] First two players check Hero bets t1000 everyone calls. pot is t5175 Turn: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] What next? With two pair and the loose nature of the table I feel committed to this pot and I push. Was this a mistake? |

Re: AQs early in a casino tourny
You know what.. I could actually see somebody check-folding here in your shoes.. If blinds were higher, no, you probably should push on the flop.
Two limpers call off 1/2 of their stack and don't push all in?! That's ringing in my ears that somebody flopped a monster, and somebody very easily could have limped/called a raise holding J-10. After the board pairs, I can see running for the hills. You still have 16 BB's, and it's still early.. I wouldn't see any fault with folding. Q-9 kills you.. and if somebody has Q-8 they slow down are in check-fold mode too.. If you were going to committ yourself to the pot anyway, you should have just push all-in on the flop though! |

Against TJ you still have outs. Against a lone 9 you still have outs. You're ahead of a flush draw... I don't know. I push since over half my stack is already in the middle. Don't want to give any free cards to someone on a flush draw. I want some others to check this out out. |
