Default Is live 2/5 worth it?

I can beat live 1/2 NL pretty easily. I haven't calculated my overall average, but I am pretty sure it is atleast $30/hour.

I played about 3 hours of 2/5 in 2 sessions at the Borgata and broke even. The play was pretty tight. There would often be 2 limpers, someone would raise to $25 or $30 and they would both fold. That doesn't happen at 1/2. The play didn't seem great, but not wild/loose like 1/2.

I sometimes run into tight tables at 1/2. They are usually like those 2/5 tables. You can play more aggressively and usually atleast break even, but it is hard to make a lot.

Do people find 2/5 more profitable? Since I can beat 1/2, I think I should consider moving up to 2/5 and eventually 5/10.

Go for it. The bigger stacks on 2/5 will give you more room to maneuver, and you'll probably like that.

As the saying goes there are those that keep records and know their win rates and there are losers. This shouldn't take you very long and is essential to your progress as a poker player.

This is essentially your answer. Structure does effect how the game is played, but not as much as those who are playing it. Learn the players and the indications of a good game and pick which one matches your br and playing abilities of the moment. Some days you will pass on a bigger game to play in a smaller game you have a bigger win rate at.
