Default 9 handed vs 10 handed - not much difference?

The site I play at only has 9 handed ring games. How much should one loosen up to account for one fewer player? How much higher should one's VPIP % be compared to 10 handed? I would assume a reasonable starting point would be a couple % points higher than 10 handed.

I don't think it matters in any substantive sense. VPIP is a percentage, so unless your player in question specifically doesn't play hands UTG (10-handed) that she would play in UTG+1 (10-handed, or UTG 9-handed), it won't change the stats at all. And few low-limit players account for position at all, let alone between UTG and UTG+1. Even a couple of % is too much.

Just curious, are you at Absolute? I've often wondered why their games are 9-handed, and even more why their stud games are 7 instead of 8!
