Default newbie to poker tracker

Probably a repeat of an old post, sorry. I just got poker tracker going and it looks like a ton of useful information but I don't know how to use it. Is there a website or something to clue me in to what all the stats mean and how to use them to rate players? My hand history selection is still small and I need a ton more to get any thing worth while as far as stats. Is there a good way to accumulate a more extensive database?

Is there any way to see the 'score' of how many times guys are drawing one or 2 outers on me. My last session, it felt like it was happening all the time. I'd like to know if I draw better on my opponents, or if they draw better on me.

Can PokerTracker tell me what my 'luck' is like. I only have about 1,000 hands in there so I know that is not totally indicative of what kind of player I am. But I'd like to how lucky or good I've been. Thanks in advance for any help.

Also, does anyone have some good rules for auto rating in short handed games?

hey winker,

here is a link to the 6-max autorate rules
some 6max autorate rules

also for the luck factor your place to be is pokergrader
input your hand history text files here

as you are new to the forum let me give you a couple pointers. first you should always use the SEARCH function before asking questions.

to search simply enter into the search field:
+autorate +6-max -re:

and adjust the time limiter accordingly, like say to one year. the + sign includes posts only with those words in the results and the - likewise limits those words from posts in the results. by taking out re: you are including only the original posts in your search results and not replies.

also you will find a lot of really excellent information in the following places: the FAQs for micros, internet gambling, smallstakes and an excellent beginners FAQ here at Poker Wiki (poker wiki has a lot of information)

if you follow these guidelines you will actually find information you are looking for and avoid possibly getting flamed in the future if you commit the unholy sin of posting before searching.

cheers and welcome to the forums,
the Real Macoy

some good info here
poki wiki - section on PT - stats - what is good?

and yes the guide rocks, if you can spare it, 20 bucks well spent. it will give a nice introduction to PT in an excellent 60 page document (yes, it is that complex...but easy once you know how).

also obviously check the pokertracker forum! the FAQ in the internet gambling forum has some great PT information as well.

finally, you should try the search function, it can be most useful (and avoid asking questions that are asked every other day)....see above for details.

cheers and welcome,
the Real Macoy

Thanks a ton RMc. I really appreciate your advise. Next time I promise to search before I post. It helps with server space and prevents the spread of HIV. Well, one of those anyway.

Cheers
