Default Making Moves

The hand below was on Party in a $10 Satellite. My table is fairly passive, which is ideal for my aggressive style..
Basically I was raising most pots uncontested until this hand came up.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t15 (10 handed) converter

UTG (t1000)
UTG+1 (t985)
UTG+2 (t1130)
MP1 (t1040)
MP2 (t990)
Hero (t1365)
CO (t595)
Button (t970)
SB (t970)
BB (t940)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
3 folds, MP1 calls t15, 1 fold, Hero raises to t55, 3 folds, BB calls t40, MP1 calls t40.

Flop: (t172.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB bets t50, MP1 folds, Hero raises to t175, BB calls t125.

Turn: (t522.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets t250, Hero calls t460.

River: (t1232.50) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)

Final Pot: t1232.50

I'm not sure why it doesn't show it correctly but the BB check raised me allin on the turn and I called..

Any thoughts on this hand would be nice

Default Re: Making Moves

Some problems I see...

First off, there is a time for loose aggressive play, and it isnt in the first level. It isn't even in the second level. During these levels you are trying to build a tight-solid image that will suit you when the blinds are bigger so that you have more fold equity when you are stealing.

So, fold preflop.

Having raised preflop, the flop play is fine. I probably push the turn when checked to. Your way makes it so villian, for all intents and purposes, is forced into a push, but I think communicates more strength than a push on your part -- not a good thing because you do have a good hand (top two).
