Default Ladies NL Event

[ QUOTE ]
Last year, 201 ladies played in the limit hold'em ladies avent. This year, the tournament was changed to no-limit, and there are around 500 entries.

[/ QUOTE ]

Does anyone else find this astounding? This is almost as many entrants as most of the open events.

It is only $1,000, and being women only, it helps bring them in, because of the "intimidation" of the male player.

The only thing that sucks is the good women are playing in the PLO event instead of this.

i dont think it sucks, i think it shows that the concept of a womens event is outdated and should be dropped really.

Default Good question.....

Is a bracelet awarded for this event? If so, how is it qualified in the poker world?

the world class male poker players would probably win the ladies event with their eyes closed if they played.

They really ought to dress them in all-white like kitchen appliances.

It's true that the concept of "women" events is kind of out dated. Today I was playing a $525 satillite during the women's event. A woman who was just busted played with us and we were discussing this a bit. All of the men agreed that we don't have any preconceived opinions when a woman sits at a poker table with us. They are just like anyone else at this point. Some are good, some are not very good. There are many, many fantastic women players. In the $2.5k events the prior two days there were tons of women playing.
