I watched one of your hands on ps today. I remember is was three handed he raised on the button you called on the BB. Flop was Q43(two low cards), you donked him? What type of hands do you do this?Of course he called, turn was a 5. You check-called. River was a king you donked him again. Could you share your thought process on this one. I dont normally lead on the raiser on the flop but it might be a good idea sometimes

I donked it yesterday when I thought I hit my gutshot and wanted to be raised... then I realized that I only had a small pair and still need a 7 to make the gut shot. It sucked.

I would like to point out that he donked it hoping to get raised after he hit the gutshot.

or more likley he donked it to make sure it didnt get checked through on the river where he would collect zero bets with his sweet hand.

what was your plan had the turn blanked? [/ QUOTE ] I was waiting for somebody to ask that. There isn't a unniversal play here. Depends a lot on previous hands. Sometimes I'll even donk him again with the gutter and ace high. Probably see the river. See what he does there. Against some I call again, against others I muck. We're playing 4 handed and ace high on that uncoordinated of a board is a pretty good hand. I don't really know how well to explain what I do (other than getting lucky and hitting gutters on the turn). I've just been getting better and better on doing the right thing in the heat of battle based on intuition. I left did leave game shortly thereafter though as I don't think i had much of an edge, if any. |
