Default Why don\'t smart 2+2 people come up with a new poker variant

Not some crazy crappy variant, poker has enough of those, one that involves mad strategy and betting like NLHE.

If you're bored, try limit to start with pot limit on the river.

How about every time you get pocket aces you have to fold. And yes, it's still the best hand.

It's on my to-do list, right after mastering the existing variants.

Twenty-handed hold em.

Twenty players. Five rounds of betting on each street if limit. If at least four players are still in at the end, the pot is split with 2/3 going to the best hand and 1/3 going to the second-best hand. Some sort of three-way split if eight players are still in.

I'd have to think it through, but I generally find the problem of maximizing value in multi-way pots to be more interesting than heads-up play.

Or how about a drawing round after the river? In holdem you can choose to muck one or both of your cards and draw.
