I would have called. But I'm a fish.

He might play that way with 99-TT, Axs, or, of course, an ace that has you beat. But 5handed, wouldn't you think he would raise AJ-AK preflop?

It's definitely a call for me here. If I go out with trip aces, decent kicker, I'm probably ok with things.

Wow, if you can't call this what can you call?

I don't see villain limping with aj++ 5 handed, ITM and UTG. 88 and A8, happen nothing you can do about those. I think villain has Ace lower kicker, but given that hero is probably playing w/t, he could be putting on a move with 99++.

I think you made a big mistake by not raising BTF.

I also think you should not have told what you laid down, especially if you were unsure that it was a good laydown. This will encourage players to feed on your blinds.

Easiest call ever. Limped pot. 5 handed. Only 4 aces in the deck.

Agree with above, a preflop raise with AJ -> AK probably would have happened short handed. Personally, I raise with A10 short handed, especially if everyone limps to me in the SB. Post flop, I call, but unfortunately I know the other players cards.

It is a tough call though, he was UTG and it's possible that he could have limped hoping for a raise with AK -> AJ. The only other hands that beat you are 88 and A8. He's obviously loose enough to open limp A8, but would he do the same with a PP. If you raised preflop without a reraise from pino, I think this would be an easier call.

There's no way I'm folding trips here 5-handed. He could easily have a weaker ace since he limped as well as a diamond draw. Call!
