Pocket Jacks with Limpers before bubble
$30 with rebuys on RiverStars for 10k seat. 75 left and I have one of larger stacks. Blinds 400/800/50a.
Four limpers, very unusual for table, and I have JJ on button. No one is extremely short stacked. What's my play, with T26500? Comments appreciated Bruce |

6500-7500 looks about right.

Re: Pocket Jacks with Limpers before bubble
Can you justify not raising? If anyone calls they are pretty close to being pot comitted and pocket Jacks are tough to play with overcard/cards. Why not avoid a potentially close gamble when not short stacked or is
there too much dead money up for grabs? Bruce |

If they want to call with one overcard or with an underpair, I'm not going to give them infinate odds to out draw me. Pot is plenty big to take down preflop with JJ. If you are worried about making a bad postflop laydown, increase the amount to where it's clear that you are committed to any flop based on their stack size. |

Re: Pocket Jacks with Limpers before bubble
I raied to T4800 and player before me with T18000 called.
Flop came K33 (rainbow). He bet T1400 into me and I raised to T5300 and he moved all in and I folded. I lost almost half my chips. It's easy to be results oriented, but had I limped I would have lost only T800. Bruce |

Re: Pocket Jacks with Limpers before bubble
I would make a big raise here, you definitely wants a hand like AQ to fold, and if posible even AK (although thats not likely).
If you have a larger stack than the limpers, a raise that puts all of them, or atleast most of them, all-in should do the trick. The only drawback is that an early limper could have a monster, but its not very likely. Limping here is definitely not the best play. You can not allow hands like 67s or KQ to be in the pot for free. You can be almost sure you have the best hand, make sure you bet while you do. |

Re: Pocket Jacks with Limpers before bubble
with 4 limpers and SB and BB left to act I would have raised it to 8K to move out the limpers and the SB and BB behind me. I do not want AXsuite, KQ to have any kind of odds to stay in.
The way you played it, I think I would have folded to the 1400 bet into me. Lets look at it, your raised PF, he called, and now there is a K out there on the flop and a pair, You could be way behind here. Reraising in this situation to his relatively small bet is dangerous to me. You are begging for him to come over the top. If you folded here you would not have lost half your chips on this hand. Your preflop raise was just not enough, and then reraising the flop bet I think was not a good play. Let it go and move on. Your stack would have still been over 20k. |
