5/10 Party AK hand. Getting trapped with a straight?
Villian is Rounder9999, who seems to be pretty solid. Stats are 29/17/2.75. I haven't seem him do anything stupid yet. Also, notes on him are that he likes to slowplay.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 6 handed) converter MP ($1228) CO ($200) Button ($1734) SB ($950) Hero ($1627) UTG ($240) Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $10. SB posts a blind of $5. 1 fold, MP raises to $50, 3 folds, Hero calls $40. Looked like either JJ or QQ to me, more likely JJ for the flopped boat. At best I think I'll chop here. Mabye 40% of the time. 60% I think he has a boat. Final Pot: $815 Comments? |

Re: 5/10 Party AK hand. Getting trapped with a straight?
Hi,
I maybe a bit slow, but prf of 17% even in 6max he's raising a LOT of hands. That means you can pretty well judge what a check on the flop means. If he continuation bets only when he gets a piece of the flop you can be reasonably sure he got 78s here. If he continuation bets 100% of the time, and checks monsters, well, why are you even putting money into this pot? Thanks, MarkV. |

Re: 5/10 Party AK hand. Getting trapped with a straight?
Would you have called the $300 if the 3rd diamond didn't hit? If not, then you might as well fold the turn because you know a 2/3 potsized bet is coming.
