Default Pretty ladies, monotone flop. Your move?

Early in session, but pretty loose table. My play later.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) converter

SB ($15.35)
BB ($27.55)
Hero ($27.8)
MP2 ($14.75)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.1.
<font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP2 calls $1, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, SB (poster) calls $0.90, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises to $2.75</font>, Hero calls $2, MP2 calls $2, SB calls $2.

Flop: ($12) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">BB bets $0.25</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero...?</font>

The raise was too weak on the flop. You're giving him good odds to draw to a spade. If you're going to raise, make it like $12.

Why do you assume villain has the A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]?

with 3 others seeing the flop, and a decent chance the BB has AA, i'd say there are 2-4 aces in people's hands on the flop. That means there's a good chance the A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] is out there, and Hero's bet definately isn't going to push it out. My guess is there's a much better than 50% chance the BB has it.

I agree, but they only have about $20 behind them and the pot is $22, i don't think i'd call a push here on the river.

yeah I don't like to call a push.

but anybody just calls the .25?

I'm not sure what raising to $5 on the flop does. He'll call you with A spades, he'll call you with AK no draw.

It was basically a continuation bet. If I get called, as you note, there's an excellent chance I'm behind and should prepare to evacuate.

but he was preflop raiser and you were preflop caller.

Why do you need to continuation bet?

if you are going to fire on blank turn and river cards, I can see this flop raise but otherwise I don't like it.
