Default A situation I face often: Shorty L5 with medium PP in EP....

Following the "tight is right" strategy for early SNG levels, I often find myself down to appx. 650 chips by L4 and L5.

So here is a hypothetical:

You are UTG with t650 at the start of L5. You look down and find 88. There are 5 people left, and 3 of them have stacks of 1500+. Assume they got these stacks by being LAG.

What's your move?

I'm pushing. Blinds are getting ready to kill your FE.

This is what I have been trying, with about 0% success.

The big stacks just love to call here.

You would think that if they had been paying attention, they would put me on something decent. The problem is that at the 10s & 20s, I don't think anyone is really awake.

So ... you're saying you'd rather play against better players?

I think you've got enough that much of the time you might get only one caller. Obviously, two callers sucks. I just don't see how you have a choice in the scenario as you stated it.

If it is still level 4, you're pushing with 6.5 BB so you shouldn't get completely frivolous "let's all knock out shorty" calls.

If it's level 5, you're more likely to get called but with the blinds coming up, 88 is about as good as you can hope for. You're desperate and have to make a move.

So, in either case, the way that this scenario is set up, I've gotta just push. In situations like this, I find that it helps if I turn away from the monitor and then see what happens in a few seconds. Kind of like putting a blindfold on in front of the firing squad...

In certain situations, yes. I'd rather have 5 players behind me here that aren't going to call with Ax, J8, etc...

I'm sorry, but if you fold what are u waiting for? You're holding the 7th best hand and most likely the best hand around the table and consider anything but push?
