Does Full Tilt know something we dont?
the banner on the right says "win the wsop and get an additional TEN MILLION". when i saw the prize structure before i remember it being 7.41mil or so. however, it seems like it would be pretty easy to bump it to 10 mil. so whats the deal here?

Re: Does Full Tilt know something we dont?
Don't they have a promotion that if you win your seat at Full Tilt and then go on to win the WSOP, they will give you $10M?
They are probably insured for it, and the promotional value is good. |

Re: Does Full Tilt know something we dont?
They have 16 people qualified so far, and will qualify another 30 in their 30 seat guaranteed. That's under 50 people, with a field of 6600. They don't have much to worry about.

All they do is take out an insurance policy, they pay a tiny fraction no matter what, if it hits then the company they took the policy with pays. ~Justin |

Re: Does Full Tilt know something we dont?
I agree that they are probably insured for it.
This is probably similar to some of the common promotions in minor-league baseball or other sports. Some contestant's name is drawn and if the 4th batter that specific inning hits a grand-slam...or if that night's pitcher throws a no-hitter...or whatever then they win a million dollars. I do agree that it would be pretty nifty if someone from full-tilt pulled it off and got the extra $10-mil. Did somebody say, "Generous final-table deal??" If it gets down to two players you could give the other guy the ENTIRE 1st place prize and just agree to take 2nd place money (4-million I think) if he agrees to let you have the bracelet. you go from a MAYBE 7.4-million to a DEFINITE 14-million just like that. |

Re: Does Full Tilt know something we dont?
theyre trying to pokerstars themselves. im sure a part of this deal is that you have to be a FT monkey for advertisements...so its not a total 10M loss for them either.
