Re: places to stay near borgata?
There is nothing near the casinos that is not a casino that is isn't seedy. You'd be better off staying on the outskirts of the city assuming you have a car. My emergency hotel is usually the ramada limited. Its reasonably priced and usually has rooms. Check expedia/travelocity.. I forget the address.
Trop and Borgata are not near eachother. Nothing is really walking distance from the Borgata, its off by itself. You could walk to Trump Marina or Harrahs if you don't mind crossing a busy highway, but I wouldnt' reccomend it. You can take the jitney from casino to casino or of course cabs. |

Re: places to stay near borgata?
You're best bet is to go to hotels.com I found amazing deals on that site for some casinos (I got a room at the Sands on a friday for 90 bucks). I have to agree that all the non-casino hotels are pretty seedy.

Re: places to stay near borgata?
Be cautious about playing if underage. I saw a number of signs indicating that underage gamblers would be arrested if caught. Also be aware that the gaming commission requires guards to be posted at all entrances/exits to the gaming floor, to look for minors. Getting into a casino will not be as easy to do as in Vegas.

FWIW, I've seen carding at the entrance to the poker room at the Borgata, and I've seen and heard about minors getting carded and thrown out of the Trop.
I've never seen or heard of any incidents at the Taj though. |

When I first started going to A.C. I would stay at the Quality Inn--its just down the AC Expressway.

Re: places to stay near borgata?
First, anyone can 'get in' to the casino. I've never seen anyone carded until they tried to play or enter a bar. At the borg this weekend a guy sat down at my table and the dealer asked for id. He said he didn't have any and the dealer let it slide, but it was one of the younger/cooler dealers. I'm sure some wouldn't.
The poker room is easier to get away with than the casino floor. The floor people are pretty good(/bad in your case) about carding people who look underage upstairs. They especially love to id young girls. Any signs about getting arrested are total BS. You'd be hard pressed to even get thrown out for anything short of physically assaulting a dealer. They'll probably just say 'sorry, you cant play'. |

you can only be arrested if you show a fake id, otherwise they will just tell you that you cant play without proper ID.

I saw someone got carded in the Taj for just watching her boyfriend. They threw her out because she was underage. He of course left the game right behind her.
