Backgammon For Winners by Robertie. Robertie himself will possibly answer questions in the Other Gambling Forum. Normally when a backgammon post pops up he gets on it!

Yes! Backgammon for Winners got me started. I am currently working through 501 Essential Backgammon Problems. Let me know what kind of progress you're making, I am a beginning player as well.

I went through Backgammon for serious players, and now I am on 501 too. Good book if you ask me! It really teaches you to think about your moves. And I find with backgammon, once you see someone done once, it's easier to apply it in your own games, alot easier than poker or chess in that respect.

Yeah, definitely. Although in the first chapter, I got like 75% of the problems wrong. Good thing I was writing in a separate notebook.
