Default A weird one

BB here is a nut. He's angry and could actually be insane. He's been swearing and being belligerent, and has been warned by the deal and the floor to watch it. He will play any 2 cards. Button here seems decent, but can be fishy as well (cold calling too much). My read on him is not strong.

Canterbury 8/16

I am in MP and open with 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Button CC's and bb calls.

3 to the flop.
8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

BB bets, I raise, Button calls, bb calls.

Turn: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

BB bets, I raise, Button calls (but looks like he hates it), BB calls

River: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
BB checks, I bet, Button looks very angry and folds, BB calls

Thoughts?

If the BB is insane and the button coldcalls too much, what's the flop raise for? Otherwise I like it.

Nice hand. If its not right, then I am in trouble, because that is how I would play it.

Can you explain your reasoning on the river bet? I'm getting caught up in these situations.

The rest looks good to me.

If button bets, and BB folds, what are you planning to do?

So we're OK with folding to a BB check-raise here? I'd want to see a showdown against a guy fuming like that.

Maybe I misworded the question:

I was saying, in the circumstance:

You check, then button bets, then BB folds, what is your plan?

Are you making the call, or folding?

(same question, assuming you need to overcall)

I jumped a bit too far ahead I think.

I see what you're saying -- we're getting a bet in here anyway, we might as well get value from hands we're behind as well -- but I think that's only valid if there's very little chance of a check-raise from BB.
