A6s 6xBB UTG bubble ante
Paradise Masters. I am 145 of 170 with T12K. 150 places pay. Blinds 1000/2000/100.
I get A6s UTG and fold. I think maybe I should have pushed. My EV is about -4K if I'm called by a hand that dominates me. If I pick up the blinds, I gain 4K. A lot of people are going to call the short stack with a strong hand, but some short stacks and others are playing tight and my risking a bubble bustout with an UTG push might appear to some to reflect a much stronger hand. Plus I think it is really to my advantage to gamble to make the serious money. I am playing for the 311K not the 1.4K. So I am thinking I should have pushed. I busted out the next hand when I defended the BB with 66 against a 4th position raise from a notorious big stack LAG. He had A8s and I lost to a pair of 8s. I was getting 1.6-1 on my money, so I definately made the right play. I often bust out on the bubble like this, because I usually pick up chips from weak players early on and then play solidly and wind up with a below average stack, but I play more aggressively on the bubble. |
