Picture cards offsuit after raise when pot odds are good
Your thoughts??
I have had quite of bit of hands recently that im not sure if i'm playing correctly where Im getting 5:1 or even at times 7:1 on my money after I limp in from CO or Button and its raised by BB and 5 people call it.... Are you looking for 2Pr or better on these hands at the flop and folding anything else with pressure?? Does the play change if sooooooted? Just some basic strategy would be helpful |

Can you post a hand that would illustrate your example? It's a little hard to understand what you're asking, and I think you'd get more responses if you had an actual hand to go along with it.

This question is really too vague. The difference between QJo and KQs is so huge that it would be very difficult (and not very useful) to make a blanket statement.

Re: Picture cards offsuit after raise when pot odds are good
Interesting...never thought of it that way...and I have been playing a while too of winning poker. Maybe im making alot of loose calls then in certain situations...
Ok...i'll give an example. Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] EP calls, MP folds, MP+1 calls, folds to hero in CO. HERO calls, SB folds, BB raises. Everyone calls, Hero Calls. (5 players) Pot: 9SB Three different flops: Flop 1: Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Flop 2: J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Flop 3: Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] These are the types of flops for me that are not obvious on how to proceed. Hope this helps. If not then i'll have to pull a couple of things from my house tonight. |

Your general strategy should be to put as many people as you can to 2-cold, if you can't do that, just call to the next street, and hope someone else limits the field. You definitely want to proceed with all of these hands. BB is raising alot there that you're ahead of right now. |

Great point there...didn't think about it that way!
Does the PF call after the raise still work for hands like JTo, KTo, QTo, AJo, ATo? |

[/ QUOTE ] Don't be folding hands for 1 bet after you've already limped in, even if you limped in incorrectly the first time. Call the raise, be cautious, but if you hit a good flop, make the other guy prove that he has you beat. The pot is big, do whatever you can to win it as fast as possible. Unfortunately, though you have decent position, you don't have great position relative to the pre-flop raiser in order to thin the field. |
