Blind Steal at 30/60
First ever session of 30/60 so I have no specific reads on anyone. I am in Cutoff with A6o. Button and SB have played tight so far. Don't have a read on BB, although he seems reasonable after an orbit or two.
I open raise with my A6o. BB 3 bets, I cap. Crazy? Flop is T74, rainbow. BB bets, I call. Bad? Turn is a 2. BB bets, I raise. Dumb? Chip-spewing? |

Re: Blind Steal at 30/60
A6o is not a hand to cap with. I think you probably ran into a good hand, no need to throw more money at it just to prove a point. Call, see the flop and fold...

At 30/60, this is the only way to play it if you're going to run with the big dogs.

Re: Blind Steal at 30/60
You're less than 50/50 to win the high, but about 99% to win the low.

[/ QUOTE ] Hi Mom, I think to make this move you ought to have more specific information on your opponent. Most 30 players are probably familiar with this line, and you'll have a difficult time getting a real A or PP to fold.. |

Re: Blind Steal at 30/60
I'd raise the flop and see if he folds or reraises. I would probably fold to reraise with only a 6 kicker, although make that 9 or better and I'm taking it further.
You might get a free card to improve and can then take a view on the entire board as to whether it's worth showing down for 1 river bet. Ugly stuff. If you can get him to fold with a turn raise, bully for you. Otherwise you better give up |

This wasn't a normal play for me, but like I said, it was my first go at 30/60. Until this, I had played a little 15/30 but mostly 10/20 6 max. I guess I can at least say I'm not weak-tight when I move up in limits. |

Or is that the definition of weak-tight? |

Re: Blind Steal at 30/60
I'm folding the flop. People don't seem to believe that occasionally a blind gets a big hand. He might not have a big PP, but he likely has you dominated.
Stupid blind wars like this can wipe out a couple hundred hands worth of "work"... |
