Weird decision preflop with kings
10-25 Borgata. $2000 capped buy in
Hero has about $7k, villain has about $5k I have gone to war with villain a few times, and he is good TAG player, probably views me as a creative LAG Hero has KdKc in UTG I call 25 intending to limp reraise, 2 folds to villain, who PUSHES!!!!! every1 folds, my action? |

Re: Weird decision preflop with kings
I think this is a really easy fold. I think villain has AA here close to 100 percent of the time, and is just doing this for shits and giggles. If you fold and he shows 27o, that doesn't make it a bad fold.
What I think is interesting is that if you raise in first position he probably reraises a normal amount and you have odds to hit your set. |

Re: Weird decision preflop with kings
Why would a good TAG player waste aces? It looks to me a stone bluff or a low pp.

Re: Weird decision preflop with kings
Because this play only needs to work once against some dumbass to make up for the other times that he "wasted" AA.

How's that game play? I'll be back east in a few weeks.

Re: Weird decision preflop with kings
Another post in this forum is going to be:
This guy was a complete LAG and I pulled the move of honor and he called!! I'd muck the kings, if you muck them face up there's a good chance he'll show you the bullets, but I'd muck them face down anyway. |

Re: Weird decision preflop with kings
It's certainly not a waste if he thinks you'll believe he's on a complete bluff or a small pocket pair and are thus willing to call with say, 99-AA and maybe ak. If he is as you describe him, he is either on a complete bluff or AA, with AA being more likely.

Re: Weird decision preflop with kings
My first inclination is maybe he put you on KK, do you often limp UTG? Just a thought.
