WWYD....Q9s street by street
An interesting Party 5/10 hand, which I'll present in "street by street" format, as I faced decisions predicated upon my earlier actions.
I have posted a late position blind in the cutoff. This is my first hand at the table. I've been watching for a few minutes and have seen no wacky plays from the players involved in this hand. I have Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. It's raised in EP and there's an MP caller. Given the pot odds, I call. The BB calls also. The flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. All check to me. What's your play here (and pre-flop, if anyone would try something different). A (more?) interesting turn sequence to come in about 1 hour. |

Re: WWYD....Q9s street by street
I think a check is in order here. I always get very suspicious when a PF raiser checks a board like this. I say take the free card and see if you improve. If it was just limped to you then I'd say take a stab, but I really feel that someone might be trapping here

Re: WWYD....Q9s street by street
I check. You have no pair, no draw, in a 4 handed pot with 9 SB's in it. You aren't winning this with a flop bet.

The turn was the T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], putting three broadway cards on the board, a diamond 2-flush, and giving me an open end straight draw (my QT on a AJT5 board). Now, the BB bets out. Suprisingly, the pre-flop raiser and cold caller both fold. Last action to me with ~5BB in the pot. What's the play? |
