Any reason not to push it on the turn but to call down or raise the river? I didn't think he had a better hand since this was a steal attempt (from his perspective) and I stole a lot of blinds at this table without going to showdown. Any reason to fear a better hand?

I think the cap is good. You're probably ahead. If he leads the river, though, I may just call. Stronger aces, 33 and 88 are each a possibility. You could consider raising, but it'd really suck to get 3bet. No folding allowed.

I'd happily put in a couple of extra bets on this hand. You have to be at least 80% to win this hand probubly a higher than that.
Most often he thinks your just pushing back to scare him off and refused to let you push him around. He doesn't know you hit a monster. -G |

I would reckin that Duke (SB?) has Ax and your kicker is good or he has 88 and you're screwed unless a 3 comes off. Looks WA/WB to me.

Sure, hero here is either way ahead or way behind, but the chances that he is way behind are much smaller than the chances that he's way ahead. WA/WB is best when the likelihood of either is about even. Not putting in some raises on the turn because you're thinking about WA/WB is bad.
Edit: Additionally, there are worse hands that will call our raises. Ax is our compainion to showdown. The other thing about WA/WB is that if villain has a worse hand, he'll just up and fold if you raise. For example, you open raise ATs, villain 3bets, and the flop comes A97r HU. If you raise villain's KK, he's out. There are no 3betting hands that you're ahead of that will reasonably call a raise anywhere in the hand. |
