2/4 Paradise.

TT in BB (me).
Folded to SB, who raises.
I reraise to 6.
SB calls.

Flop: A-8-2 (3 suits)

SB checks.
I bet.
SB calls.

Turn: 5

SB checks.
I bet
SB calls.

River: J

SB: checks

What should I do? How was my play so far? What do you put SB on?

Call me weak, but I'd check it through when the second overcard hits. You have shown enough aggression that I would think it less likely for a lesser hand to call your river bet.

I'd check and expect to lose. If he did hit a J on the river he will most certainly call, but won't bet it out due to the A coupled w/ your preflop 3bet. Hope you won it.

Hi Your Toast,

I think that you are on the edge here, with a tough decision. It may very well be that the SB has an Ace with a bad kicker, but his play isn't inconsistant with someone who has decided to call you down with a mid sized pocket pair, that you can beat. I think that your decision has to be made based on your knowledge of the player involved. If I don't know him at all, I am going to check here and showdown, so that I at least get to see his hand, and learn one hand that he plays this way.
