Lake Tahoe Poker; South Shore skinny?? is Harveys still the place?

can anyone help me out on what stakes are spread around tahoe South Shore??? thanks

Use search function, search for tahoe.

However you should konw that the WSOP circuit is in town for the next week or two at harvey's I believe ? You may want to look into how this may impact your play. Horizon also has a room.

I was just there two weeks ago, I'll hook you up with the info. Harvey's seems to be the main room and they spread a 3-6, 4-8 and 2-5 NL with a $500.00 max buy in.

Horizon has the same limits mostly but they're NL game is 1-3 with a $100.00 buy in. Harvey's has morning tourneys capped at 20 entrants and some evening tourneys that are more open. Horizon also has daily tourneys.

I thought the dealers blew out there and that the cardroom wasn't that organized. It did seem like they were new to it though and overall I've played in worse. (how's that for a mushy-mashy statement?)

I didn't play live at Horizon (just an evening tournament but there are only like 8 tables there so I figure the wait could be a while.

The wait at Harvey's was 20 mins at its longest on Sunday night. Other than that, it was easy to get a table whenever you pleased. The 3-6 was pretty loose and should be easy for an average 2+2er to crack (I'm below average and I beat them, so you can too!). You'll get plenty of callers all of the time, but that's your average 3-6 right?

I don't believe they spread a 4-8 at harvey's I believe it is actually a 5-10 which is quite annoying because they use red chips and it is a 1-2 chip structure. I have not ventured into this game at all last time i was there it was a bunch of old men playing. They also spread 15-30 if there is an interest list.

They also spread tournaments in the morning there are pamphlets available detailing the tournaments. I have not played the tournies, however from a brief look at the structure they look to be your typical crapshootesque structure featured at most casinos.

Havey's recently expanded their room, knocking out the back wall to create more room and adding about 5-7 tables in the room. Oh yea cocktail service is SLOOOOOWWWWWWWWW, despite the fact that the poker room is situated right next to a bar. It is nice that they added tables however they also added a stage in the far back with room for dancing. On weekends a VERY loud band plays there for short sets. If you are situated at one of the back tables, expect to not be able to hear anything whenever the band is playing. For comparisons sake the noise factor when the band is playing is much louder than the new MGM room gets whenever those chicks get up on the tables and dance.

I thought the buy in to the 1-3 NL game at the horizon was 200 max, I haven't played this game so I could be mistaken. I believe they also spread a 4-8 game here as well and sometiems one level higher as well.

I was there a month ago and Harvey's definitely had more going on than Horizon. Harvey's had several tables of 3-6 going at all times, 5-10 and NL later in the day. Weekend nights usually get a 15-30 game also. The NL game has 2-5 blinds and a $100-$500 buy-in I think. 3-6 was very weak, 5-10 was a little more aggressive preflop but not all that much better. The NL game had a few players calling any raises with any A, very beatable.

The Horizon had some spread limit tables (2-6 I think) and 1 1-3 NL game ($200 max buy-in) on a Saturday night. Decent action in these games.
