Default He called me a LAG! (404 Error: content not found)

I just found this hand too amusing not to post:

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">5 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, Button calls.

Flop: (6.50 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.25 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, Button calls.

River: (7.25 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, Button calls.

Final Pot: 11.25 BB

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
Hero has 8h As (full house, eights full of aces).
Button has 6c 3c (two pair, eights and sixes).
Outcome: Hero wins 11.25 BB. </font>

After the hand, Button types into the chatbox: lag

What was your reason for the SnG over a check/raise?

Edit: On the turn, that is?

Rob,

Were you inclined to 3-bet this guy based on his stats or just your standard play when raised from the CO?

If/when he has an Ace, he's very likely to raise my bet. In steal-resteal situations, there's also a good chance he semibluff-raises my bet, allowing me to 3-bet. I think the chances add up of him either checking behind with a hand that would call (flush draw, etc.), betting a hand that he would raise, allowing me to 3-bet.

A bet-3bet is almost always preferrable over a checkraise when you feel the odds are good that your opponent will play aggressively.

When I'm defending with decent Aces, I almost always 3-bet, as I find it allows me more folding equity later in the hand when we both miss.

It also makes them less likely to try to steal from you later... not a major factor but it's nice.

This may be a dumb question:

How do you think all of that stuff through in the middle of the hand? I'm always getting sat out on all my tables because I play 4 at once like most people, and I just don't have that much time to think in detail about whether to stop and go, check-raise to protect, just bet out, etc. So most of the time I just bet out.

I dunno, most of it is automatic now. I put my opponents on a range of hands and try to adjust my play accordingly.

I seriously thought it was a 2+2'er, until he called me with a pair of 6's.
