Good SSNL games in Reno?
Planning a trip to Reno in the next couple weeks and would like to play some NL. Don't have the funds or experience to play any high stakes games. Can anyone point out a couple good SSNL games there. Also any info on the structure of the games(i.e blinds,antes,max-buyin) would be much appreciated.

Re: Good SSNL games in Reno?
I believe circus circus and reno hilton have 500 max buy in games that usually get going on the weekends. 2/5 blinds I believe. I could be wrong, but I am at least close.
Atlantis also has a nl game that gets going on the weekends, I believe 300 max. Call them as I am less sure about this. Eldorado has a no cap game with 2/3/5 blinds. I haven't seen very many people do well by buying in short at that game, though the ones who do tend to be bad players. If you search, someone has a website with the list of reno poker rooms, though I'm not sure if it lists exact limits and blinds for all the rooms. |

Re: Good SSNL games in Reno?
I was just out in Reno 2 weekends ago and did very nicely. We kept our poker playing to Circus Circus and the Sands. Circus Circus has a nice NL game from 7 pm on every night, with a minimum $50 buy-in, max $500. I believe the blinds were both $3, but it was $5 to bring in (I can't believe it's already getting hazy). Anyway, the night we were there, it was a total fish tank. My buddy and I both sat down with $100 and left with our trip paid for...no kidding. If you want to make sure you get a seat, show up there at about noon and put your name on the list. The other NL games in town aren't nearly as $ friendly if you're on a tight budget...I think the NL game at the El Dorado is $10 to bring in on every hand. From what I understand, the limit games are pretty much the same at every casino.
You're going to get a huge kick out of the people playing there too. Folks from Sacremento, Oakland, SF, etc. They all think they're poker pros. This guy sitting next to me had the baseball hat, iPOD, sunglasses, and was reading "Bluff" magazine at the table, no joke. Of course he couldn't play his way out of a wet paper bag, but at least he LOOKED like Phil Hellmuth. Good luck out there...let us know how it goes. |
