Default 11R turbo sat. - preflop play

I was playing the Stars 11R turbo sat. to Sunday 215. There's about 35 left. Top 20 make it. Blinds are 600/1200 with antes (elevating every 5 min.). I'm 10th in chips with 15000. UTG goes all-in PF for 7500. UTG+1 folds. I'm UTG+2 w/ATo. I have no reads - this is the 5th table I've been at this tournament and we're hardly an hour in. What would you do?

I'd probably just fold. You could be easily dominated and there are way to many players ahead of you yet to act.

This is an easy fold. Your stack is big enough that you don't need to take risks at this point in the satellite. I wouldn't even call there with AKs.

Unless someone shoots me in the head before I can click call, i'm in here w/ AKs. We're not in the money yet.

But yeah, ATo=easy fold.

Fold. You've got your seat if you fold everything. This is a turbo, so unless you drop below 15th-20th, you should let the blinds do the work. If you call and lose you might still make it, but you're risking transferring your easy ride to him.

This isn't necesarily true in the turbo sats, but you can certainly pick a better spot. I'd rather be first into the pot in LP with 37o then call w/ AT here.

If you fold now I'd estimate you have a 75% chance of winning a seat. If you call and increase your stack by 9500 chips or whatever, that might increase to 90% or so. But if you call and lose, you wll be shortstacked and at most you'd have a 40% chance of winning a seat.

Using those figures, you need to fold unless you figure your pot equity against the pusher's range of hands is greater than 70%. Hence AKs is a clear fold. I'd reraise with AA/KK/QQ and fold everything else.

Actually that's not quite correct, what I really meant is that your ratio of wins to losses against the pusher's range of hands should be greater than 70:30. Ties can be disregarded from the equation, because in a satellite situation a chop is much better than half a win.
