You have black eights and it is folded to you mp1. you raise, and an unknown 3 bets you in the cutoff. Blinds fold. Your action and plan for the rest of the hand. |

The approach is actually stirringly similar, both saying that they ain't done betting and raising with 88, once cutoff 3bets their mp1 open-raise.
Me? I wonder if I am turning into Andy Fox here. There are times when I do not want to cap/lead or call/checkraise, and although 99-88 is better than AJ or ATs here, why not surprise them with these "big pairs" played more cautiously sometimes? I think capping 88 here is streching it somehow. Then again, it's Party and I haven't really done as well as I would have liked on my journeys there lately. lars |

Here's my play, keep in mind I'm a lunatic . . .
I call the PF 3 bet. Then, I check-raise the flop if two of the three cards are less than a 10. If two of the cards are 10 through A, then I check-call the flop and see what happens on the turn. I have to give the PF 3-bettor credit for overcards, so I want to see that 66.666666% of the flop are not big cards before proceeding agressively. TSP |
