Default City of God

Couldn't find it in the search, imagine it's been discussed, but here's this anyway:

Holy [censored], what a frickin great movie!!

This movie goes straight into the top twenty, easy.

P.S. It's somehow even BETTER if you also watch the incredible bleakness of the documentary that comes on the DVD.

Isn't it weird though that they made up so new weird language for just a single movie?

I agree. One of the best movies I've ever seen. Watch out for little kids.

I assumed it was some sort of Snatch-esque slang Portugese from the slums.

Was I wrong?

Yeah.

But more than that, I was really impressed with how well it was shot, and written, and acted, and scored and, well...everything.

I mean, damn. If you don't think this is a great film, I suspect you don't care for films.

Funny you should say that; as I was typing the word "film," I thought maybe I should say "movie," but then I decided not to worry about it.

And now here I am worrying about it.

Damn, thanks, Jake.

Yeah, City of God is incredible. I absolutely love the cinematography in that movie.

Umm not sure if this is a joke but they were speaking Portuguese, not a new language.

Agreed. My wife kept trying to get me to watch this, which is usually a bad sign, but it was incredible.

Kinda like a Brazilian "Scarface."
