Seriously?

I thought I played it right, but then I thought I butchered it. I'm so confused.

I dunno... to me, the only street that looks right is the river. I check-fold on the flop

I don't mind betting the flop, and I don't mind calling the raise. 3-betting isn't for value, that's for sure. You have some dirty outs, it's 3-handed, and you're out of position.

Basically I would have bet called the flop and check folded the turn because the pot would not have been that large. Nice check raise on the river though.

If you're going to 3-bet, why not check-raise instead? More chance of buying you a free card.

Now I am even more confused.

Don't get me wrong, I play lots of hands correctly. The only ones I post are ones I thought I played wrong so I could get critiqued for future consideration.

I figures my 2, 3, and 5 outs will are clean. 3 outs *could* have been discounted by club draws. This left about 8.5 outs.

I thought by reraising the flop I could get a hand like AT through A6 to check behind on the turn. I was wrong.

Come the turn, I had 7:1 odds to call, and I was about 5.5:1 to make my hand. Plus, I figured the other guy would call behind me. I also had to factor the implies odds if I hit my hand, which would probably go check, bet, call, raise, call, call. And it did when I hit the hand.

The bet was to see where I was. I hate checking flops like this, because these guys range of limping hands far outnumber the kind of hands that worked with this flop.

The cold-call changed things.

In him doing this, I felt I could safely 3-bet the flop and get the proper odds on the turn to win a larger pot once both players called (or maybe a cap).

Faulty logic. Do you raise and cap any pocket pair so you can call a bet on the flop to spike your set?

Don't raise one street to "give yourself odds" on the next street.
