Default For some of the newer players

Hi everyone,

I have read a lot of posts lately where players made the right decision, but lost to a worse hand that "got lucky".

Worse yet, the posters do not give specific information such as stack size, stack size in relation to blinds, what stage in tourney. No foreplay, straight to intercourse.

I think this problem occurs because a lot of the newer posters do not have an understanding of gambling theory. They have a handle on no limit hold em (maybe). They know the odds and probabilities, however they do not understand the odds and probabilities.

To the newer players/poster you can and will lose four or five straight coin flips,it happens. When your AK loses to another players 44 or 66, remember the time your own AK beat someones 55 with a board of 10 10 J J 2. It all balances out in the end.

When you put all of your money into the middle of the table with the best of it, nothing much you can do other then hope the hand holds up.

The draw outs do and will continue to happen, if and when they do, take a deep breath and continue. If the hand happens to bust you, take at least 12 hours off before posting the hand. Think it through.

I would appreciate anyone elses input.

I agree. I think the 12 hour idea is great.

Yep...agreed. The 12 hour window is perfect. I find myself wanting the post something and while I am typing it I think to myself, this is absolutely stupid.

Take time, reflect, think it through yourself before posting. You wll usually come up with the answer. If you are still confused post ALL the aforementioned information.

Exactly the idea. Work the problem through and post the hand, without regrets or bias. Dont title the post " Did I make the right push".

I know a bad beat is a bad beat - but sometimes it helps to play the hand from your opponents view.

An example - You raise UTG with AA - BB calls with AK of spades.
flop comes AJ4 2 spades

both push, you lose to flush.

this is a bad beat - however in your opponents eyes he has the best hand here most of the time, you could easily have AQo - even without the flush draw.

you get the idea...

I agree.

Sometimes the villian has as much right to the pot as the hero does.
