Stupid noob computer mistake - help? (OT)
Ok I just got my new computer and began to instal on OS on it (XPro). I used a WinXP disk that my roomate had (I have 3 completely legit copies myself, I just couldn't find them). When I tried to enter one of my legit serial numbers it says it's invalid. It's asking for a "volume license product key" Apparently that's different than what I have.
Anyway, I found my own install CDs but now I can't get them to work!! It keeps taking me back to the same place to enter an SN and it's not working. I tried rebooting, ctrl/alt/del, and I don't know what to do. Can someone help me out here and give me an SN that will work so I can reformat with my own disk and SN? I'm not going to reg this one as I want it to be legit, but I need to get past this screen so I can! Feel free to PM. Thanks for the help. -Craig |

Are you sure you're booting from the CD?

How do I make sure that I am? I've always just thought that if you put in the CD and then restart it would boot from it or give you an option to do so. Is there a key I can press upon booting that will make sure?
Thanks, Craig |
