Re: 88, play is too weak?
I'd raise PF; its seven handed and your close enough to the button. I'd lead the turn and see what happens from there. Any reads on COs would help decide what to do after his raise.

Re: 88, play is too weak?
Raise this preflop every time.
I usually don't like to fold hands that I bet with on the flop. But the pot is not that big. I might call and bet out the turn if checked too. Definitely fold to a turn raise. Check-calling to the river is very bad here. |

Re: 88, play is too weak?
If you're behing you're way behind and probably drawing to 2 outs. If youre ahead your opponent could have several outs (eg A flush draw and overs). You really have no way of knowing where you stand against an unknown player. The pot is small. I would just fold.
On raising preflop: I don't think this is a definite raise UTG+1 but I'm sure others see it differently. |

Re: 88, play is too weak?
With one limper is front raise this pre-flop. You'll make less when your set hits, but you'll make more if you can get it heads up or sometimes even 3-way.
(flop) If you had position I'd say 3-bet it here, but as such, even though Co might be on a draw, I'd drop the hand. It's marginal call/fold at best. |

Should've raised here? [/ QUOTE ] I normally limp here. 99 is usually my cutoff for raising pairs, but it depends on the table texture and my position. [ QUOTE ] Flop: (5 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, CO raises, SB folds, BB folds, UTG folds, Hero folds. flop fold too weak? should I have called, and check/called the rest of the way? [/ QUOTE ] I would say call the flop raise and c/f the turn UI. |

Re: 88, play is too weak?

I would say call the flop raise and c/f the turn UI. [/ QUOTE ] What is the purpose of calling the flop raise if you are folding the turn UI? You're not getting odds to draw to 2 outs if behind. If you call the flop, you have to try to either 1) get to a showdown cheaply (bet turn, check river) or 2) try to take the pot down on the turn with a bet. |

Re: 88, play is too weak?
I didn't see it was 7-handed. I was refering to 10 handed. Do you guys raise this 10 handed UTG+1 (where hero would have been in a 10 handed game)?

What is the purpose of calling the flop raise if you are folding the turn UI? [/ QUOTE ] Because I don't like folding the flop after having bet when it's only one back to me. and you're right, a bet on the turn would probably be correct. |
