Default Truan Lee and Barry Greenstein as mentor?

In the begining of the show it showed a graphic displaying Barry Greenstein as Truan Lee's poker mentor (or something to that affect). I didn't see the similarities, did anyone else?

I thought he played similiar to BG. He raised every pot and bet on the flop no matter what came. Hell, he called an all-in with 48!

Good point, I see the similarity with the raises and post flop bets. His all in calls though reminded me more of Gus Hansen, I don't recall seeing Greenstein doing stuff like that.

Oh, I'm sure there were lots of times when he did make a call/bet/raise when he was ahead in the hand.

It's just that they weren't as interesting to show as the hands we did see.

exactly...it still amazes me that people don't realize how slanted the production can become.

I think you are not far off. I told Tuan to take advantage of the "final table" fear that the other players would have. He probably didn't make the same plays I would have on many of the hands. But he did pick up a high percentage of the pots on hands that weren't shown. He's a young, dangerous player, and he will get better.

My first thought was - well that is a scary thought.

My second thought was - but it would be hard not too.

I did see many similarities to Gus's play, he tried pushing people around, and when it didn't work, he called them anyway - and probably with close to correct odds.

Dan Harrington has discussed this in his book, that is part of the fear these guys put into you.

You can't just reraise them and take the pot away from them. They will call, and they will generally have outs when they do.
