Checkraising in EP, multiway pot
When I post here I always get complaints that I CR the flop from EP in raised multiway pots with stuff like AK, KQ when a K hits and there are no big draws out there. Or if I have pocket aces or kings.
Do you guys always bet out when you hit? I thought that the standard way of dealing with these situations was, check and hope for a late position bet (unless the table and especially LP players are passive) so you can CR the field and get it HU if possible. I don't always do this, but if the pot is raised, it is 5 people on the flop and I feel that it will be checked to LP who will bet this is what I normally would do. Would you CR more than 50 % of the time in the above scenario? |

Re: Checkraising in EP, multiway pot
I'd bet because I don't like it when its checked through. I'd only checkraised if I knew someone in LP was the type to bet when checked to them or aggressive. Betting out is usually more effective than checkraising.

I know, that's why I wrote "I don't always do this ... this is what I normally would do"
The question was more like, would you do it most of the time? |

Generally, check-raising when you were the only preflop aggressor is very bad, because you don't know where the bet is coming from, and it is especially likely that there won't be a bet for you to raise. |
