Default Bad river laydown?

No reads. I just felt like he got there on the river. Bad fold?

SB wouldn't lead out the river like that without the nuts (or a set)?

He could easily have a worse two pair or even a naked ace.

This hand is entirely player dependent, but without a read, I'm calling here 100% of the time, after all, it's just a standard river blocking bet. I'd be much more wary if he, say, bet 2-3 times the size of the pot.

I'd likely call here. He could easily have a weaker 2 pair. I would bet more on the turn.

If there is 230 in the pot, and he bets 100, and you have top two, and the board is not that draw heavy, and your call ends the action, I have a damn hard time folding.

If it is 300/ or there is a player behind you who you think will raise we have a problem.

With such a small amount, $30, in the pot on the flop, this is one of the rare times I would actually bet the pot and show you mean business. KJ would call, lesser pairs would be less inclined to do so.

Also, your miniscule turn bet does nothing to deter draws or lesser pairs. Bet $60 or $70 if you didn't bet the pot on the flop.

Finally, you leave open the possibility that your opponent made Aces up on the river, or could be making a play at you. Given the way you played the hand, I would call and live with the results. If he were calling more heavy duty bets on the flop and turn, then I would be more inclined to lay down on the river.

I would raise pf. Is it more profitable to just limp with A-Q in early position? I would probably fold the river in this situation, depending on the player. Against most players the only hand I see you beating is A-10. I don't play at this level (yet) so I may be off. If villian is tricky and knows that you are capable of laying down a big hand, this could be a semi-bluff trying to represent K-J.

Thats just it, you haven't even represented a big hand. I don't see how you can fold here without a solid read on the player. I think he is value betting his lower two pair, or atleast he thinks he's betting it for value.

Why exactly do you think youre beaten here?
He certainly got something. KJ, A high, AT set, who knows?

Please, as others have said, bet a lot more on the previous two streets. The turn bet is awful.
