Sam Farha is a feared NL player?
It's been written in this forum many times that he's an excellent NL tourney player. But these results don't suggest that (note that four of his cashes were not in NLHE). Phil H. however considers Farha to be the best PLO player in the world.

Re: Sam Farha is a feared NL player?
I think it was Barry Greenstein that said no pro would play headsup PLO with Sammy Farha because he is just too good. I think this comment alone puts Sammy in the upper echelons of PLO play in the world.
I do not think he's a very good or feared NLHE OR tournament player tho. Having said that I think Sammy is the coolest poker player on earth. Then again, I've always been a bit of a groupie. |

Re: Sam Farha is a feared NL player?
Wouldn't YOU be a bit cautious around him, with him moving a lot of chips around? Tough to know when you've trapped him or when he's trapped you, unless you have the stone nuts. That situation doesn't come up too often.

Re: Sam Farha is a feared NL player?
Sammys specialty is pot limit omaha ringgame. Quote from Barry Greenstein's site:
"Sammy may be the most feared short-handed pot-limit Omaha player in the world. He is so good that we only play Omaha with him in mixed-games with one or two other games added." Comming from someone like Barry I think that he is "pretty" good |

Most of those years he wasn't playing any NL tourneys at all so I'm not sure if this proves anything.

Don't know if that is natural, or if he is Sam's hero. On the 2003 WSOP broadcast, Norm Chad said that when he dies, he wants to come back as Sam Farha. |

Re: Sam Farha is a feared NL player?
last year i happened to be in vegas during the WSOP ME and i witnessed farha and bobby baldwin playing headsup PLO. i saw them at the same table in the golden nugget over the course of 2 days. the majority of the time they were playing 1k/2k blinds with a cap of 100k per hand (similar to the 'big game') but towards the end of the session it appeared they bumped the blinds to 2k/4k with a cap of 200k per hand.
here was the catch, that i only confirmed with other railbirds, sam gave bobby the button on every hand (which was evident by the deal) in exchange for bobby giving back 25% of what he won from sam (assuming he won). the game was hilarious, farha was constantly needling baldwin and it looked like farha was getting the better of him throughout the match. |

Re: Sam Farha is a feared NL player?
Everyone's reading comp. skills need some work. The subject clearly asks if he's a feared NL player, which implies NLHE, and people just respond w/ "he's a great PLO player." well no sh1t, I stated that in the original post. wtf.
