Poker Glossary

Case: The fourth card of any particular rank.

As in the last card of that type (Queen, Ten, 3, etc) that is left in the deck. For example: If you hold AQ, your opponent holds KK, and the board is AAKK then you need the case Ace (becuse its the last one, aka the forth, in the deck) to win the hand.

The term may come from Faro, where the exposed cards are kept track of on an abacus-like device called a "case".
